Welcome to Manuel Override

I guess the hardest part about blogging is getting over the first hurdle. I am not sure what Manuel Override is going to entail, but as I was informed by one of my "wiser" students the other day. Just get over it! You are putting to much thought into this.

I guess she is correct, thanks Anna!

That being said, I present to you Manuel Override. A collection of what my mind finds fascinating at the moment, albeit that could be a bleak moment, it still is a moment.

As far as who I am...Churchill described it best. "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma." Seriously there are times that I sit back and say "Huh?" where did that come from and other times I find myself oddly nodding in agreement.

Being an educator and an adviser, (this is correct er not or) I will get into that debate later, as a second career has both inspired me and left me speechless on numerous occasions. I would have never imagined that I get to go through this torment on a daily basis and love every minute. I mean spending numerous hours grading papers, endless deadline evening correcting copy and watching my students go through various stages of growth is incredible.

As my students grow so must I. Hence, this summer I have the unique opportunity to attend the Reynolds Institute in Phoenix, AZ at the ASU Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. This opportunity will help to me to revisit skills I have not used in quite some time and acquire new skills in the area of journalism, online media, broadcasting and more.

Well for now I bid you all good reading...
